K. Flay, Grouplove, and Imagine Dragons

WOOT WOOT! We finally made it to a concert where Grouplove would be performing!! So, us three friends - Tori, Brittany, Haley - have made the band Grouplove our friendship band. In high school, we were attached to the two songs - Tongue Tied and Naked Kids. You need to go take a listen to pretty much any Grouplove song and enjoy life. Anyways, so we went to this concert to fulfill our 6 year long dream of seeing Grouplove live. The concert was at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. The venue was good. It was a large venue with assigned seats. It had three merch tables and a lot of food options.

First, K. Flay took the stage. And honestly, I was just really nervous she was going to slide one of the speakers off the stage and take a big spill, because she kept hopping on the speakers and they would inch a little closer to the edge. Also, she had really good merch - there was this wave t-shirt that we thought was for Grouplove and we wanted it, but we got closer and it was K. Flay -- so props on the merch girl!

Then, dreams truly came true as Grouplove took the stage with a beautiful inflatable mouth as decoration. Grouplove is so so so good live. They just do their thing and vibe!! They are so cute and have matching green hair and matching cheetah print outfits and they are wonderful.

Last was Imagine Dragons. Lemme say, I definitely enjoy this new album. Unfortunately, they played the two songs we wanted to hear basically last, so we had to wait through the rest of the concert for what we wanted to here. "Thunder" was a MAJOR let down. Like, why would they not emphasize the little thunder sounding drums and play that super loud to really emphasize thunder? I was a lil sad. But, "Believer" was everything I wanted it to be. And, the lead singer has a really, really good voice live. Storytime about Imagine Dragons: We came to this concert for Grouplove, so we don't really know a lot of like stuff a real fan would know about Imagine Dragons. So, before the show, we were joking around about starting random rumors by talking about people in the band and making the people around us think we were like super in the know. Without looking up any names at all, I (Haley) said, "Yeah like, did you guys know that Daniel is dating Kendall Jenner now?" This is where it gets weird... THERE ARE TWO DAN/DANIELS IN IMAGINE DRAGONS. TWO! So, basically I am a psychic.

Side note by Brittany: K. Flay was like a punk Lorde (in my opinion). If I was a K. Flay fan I would have thoroughly enjoyed her performance. She really gets lost in her music and that is a great thing. However, her music is not quite my taste and her performance was not good enough to win me over. Grouplove was a dream. Now, typically the genre Grouplove falls into is not my cup of tea, but they hold a special place in my heart. They truly put on a wonderful show and I wish they were the headliners. Imagine Dragons let me down. I say that because I had high hopes that they would blow it out of the water. I mean I like their new album and was excited to see them perform, but honestly I sat down for most of it. We left after "Believer" was played. We were not the only one. They just were not the performers I thought they would be. The main guy was pretty good, but I felt like they as a whole weren't invested in it.

Overall, GREAT TIME WITH ALL THREE BEST FRIENDS! So, the concert was in Cincinatti, and Ohio is kinda a random place to me. However, the Natti was GREAT! We went to a super cool art museum, a board game cafe (which is like our dream in life), and a cool park down by the riverfront. So like I said, GREAT TRIP!
