MAX, Aaron Carter, and the Vamps

Free MAX, Aaron Carter and the Vamps concert in our college town? You best believe we're going to be there! A newish shopping center opened in Bristol, TN and to encourage more people to be patrons of the shopping center, they held a summer concert series in a tent on the lawn. Lemme tell you, it was a very sweaty experience. They kicked off the series with a RAGER! You would think it would just be us two 23 year olds with a massive amount of youth fangirls. This was not the case. Yes, at one point we were completely encircled by middle schoolers, but at another point there were ridiculous 40 year old country boys having a dang good time. And I gotta say, this concert was SO good. It was free, but I would be willing to pay to go see any one of these people again.

MAX, as in Max Schneider from the critically acclaimed Nickelodeon movie Rags, started off the show with the most energy I have ever seen from a performer in my life. Ever since watching the movie Rags, Brit has really liked MAX and kept up with his music career. Sadly it was not played at the show but, we both really love his song Mug Shot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kid4GuZsae4) which you need to hear if you have not. Literally every song he did was good, but I would have to say the highlight is Basement Party (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVU2J1jetuk). Overall, MAX just really ramped up the crowd and honestly, I was left wanting A LOT more MAX.

Next up was the famous Aaron Carter. Now, I saw Aaron back in 2012 or 2013 when he went on a concert series performing mostly his largely popular songs from the early thousands. That concert is a memory I will cherish forever; I was third row in a small venue, and I was just living out my elementary school dreams. So, at this concert, I expected a very similar experience. Much to my surprise, Aaron played new music and played for us some of the songs that he is working on! It was really, really cool and I loved getting a sneak peak! Check out some of his newest released music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugskNSdZbac video is labeled explicit).

Side Note by Brittany: I have loved Aaron Carter since childhood, but his performance almost changed my mind. He addressed publicly some hate comments that fans had made towards him the day of the concert, which made him kind of angry at us even though we weren't the crowd that made the comments. When he first went out on stage he just seemed angry and upset, but as he got into his music he calmed down a bit and became a lot better to watch. Also, he sang over his own voice on his track which was a little bit annoying. But overall I still love love him.

Lastly, the Vamps took the stage. Never in my life have I heard the kind of screaming that was coming from the girl beside me. I already have a tube in my ear so my ear drum is messed up, but if I hadn't, that scream alone probably would have busted my ear drum. She was EXCITED. Anyways, other than having to skirt around fangirls, the Vamps did a great show. I went through a Vamps phase back in 2014, and I think they have just gotten better in the time I stopped listening everyday. Basically you have to love them because, they are just so adorable and they work the crowd well while trying to calm down the too crazies. ;) Check out their newest hit that will not leave your head in a good way (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqaoAQbkeXo).
